On our Computer Science course, you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of a variety of programming languages and software paradigms, underpinned by a solid grounding in mathematics. You’ll work with advanced software development and computer programming labs, as well as industry-standard development tools and virtual machines. You’ll use dedicated facilities for work including artificial intelligence, user-interface design, and web engineering. Throughout your studies, you’ll be supported by our expert teaching staff, all of whom have a wide range of research and industrial experience in areas such as computer security and software engineering, which they use to enhance the curriculum. Our course has an 81 per cent student satisfaction rating (National Student Survey, 2016), displaying the quality and clarity of our teaching. You’ll be based in Millennium Point at our City Centre Campus. In 2017, we are spending £8.7 million on improvements to our facilities so you’ll have even more access to dedicated, industry-standard equipment. Our strong partnerships with the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) and the Oracle Academy give you enviable access to leading industry knowledge. We are also home to a Cisco Systems and a Microsoft Academy Centre – one of Microsoft’s top UK university-based academies.
