JBS was started in the year 2007 as a constituent of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (Deemed University). It has made good progress in a short span and has shown a very high level of academic accomplishment. JBS has benchmarked itself with the latest content and teaching methodologies across the country. The mission of JBS is “to prepare and produce competent, passionate and market centric professionals who can manage human resources, business operations and ensure world class practices with endurance and commitment”.
JBS grooms its students remembering its mission into leaders who are adaptable, flexible and sensitive to the cross-cultural business context. Students are also made aware of their social responsibility through a unique social internship program. JBS is one of the few Indian B-Schools, which can boast of its state-of-the-art resources. All academic activities at JBS are faculty driven. JBS faculties are all respected professionals who have been recognized for their achievements in their respective fields. The faculty decides on the curriculum content, delivery, duration and management of each program.
The MBA program at JBS employs a multi-dimensional pedagogy that blends theoretical concepts with practical applications. In the first year, students engage in foundational courses that establishes essential management principles. In the second year, they choose core and elective courses across major and minor specializations to deepen their expertise. IT applications are offered in all functional areas of the management. There are compulsory courses such as Management Information System based on ERP for hands-on learning. Modules like ERP for Supply Chain Management are also integrated with elective courses. IT software packages like SPSS and modules on SAP, analytics, R and Python along with Industry databases like Ace Equity are integrated in the curriculum to offer the best and the latest of the business world to the students.
JBS follows an Outcome-Based Education model, emphasizing transparency and employability. Through clearly defined Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Course Outcomes (COs), students benefit from a focused and structured learning experience. A vital aspect of the program is the 8-week corporate internship, which provides practical exposure in areas such as industry analysis, financial analysis, and live projects, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world business challenges. Students also undertake a 4-week social internship with NGOs, which fosters social responsibility and awareness.
The MBA program prioritizes holistic personality development through self-study, group activities, and participation in various clubs and competitions. Students also complete Employability Skill Enhancement courses to strengthen self-management, technical, and social skills, preparing them for the competitive job market.
Students can choose one major and one minor area of specialization. The major areas are HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations, IT & Business Analytics, Hospital and Healthcare Administration, and Education Management. The minors in areas like International Business, Digital Marketing, and FinTech or one minor from conventional specialization HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and IT & Business Analytics.
Upon graduation, students are equipped with skills for diverse career opportunities in fields like HR, finance, marketing, healthcare, education, operations, and business analytics, making them well-rounded professionals ready for leadership roles.
IT Infrastructure and Facilities
JBS stands out among Indian B-Schools with its cutting-edge computing resources and comprehensive campus-wide network infrastructure. It boasts a Central IT Infrastructure dedicated to providing robust IT support. The primary objectives of the Server Room (IT Infrastructure Center) are as follows:
· To offer easily accessible and high-quality computational facilities to cater to the academic, research, and recreational needs of all campus members.
· To establish and maintain IT Infrastructure and application software.
· To provide introductory and advanced training to users and develop skilled manpower for IT Infrastructure management (including Servers, Desktops, Data Security, and the University Network).
· To support the University's computerization initiatives.
· To conduct in-house research and development activities.
· To serve a user base comprising over 4500 individuals, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, faculty, and staff of the University.
· To take charge of developing and implementing application software for various University requirements, such as finance, payroll, results, MIS reports, and an electronic attendance system, among others.
LAB:
Jaypee Business School maintains two computer labs, offering a combined computational capacity of 120 interconnected computer nodes connected through a LAN network. Each of these computers/nodes is equipped with an Intel i7 processor and 16 GB of RAM. They operate on the Windows 2010 platform and come equipped with cutting-edge software such as SPSS, AMOS, and various open-source tools including Tableau Desktop version. At JBS, significant emphasis is placed on the utilization of these laboratories. While they serve as a valuable resource for skill development and practical application of various concepts, tools, and techniques, their primary objective is to nurture broader professional competencies through hands-on, collaborative learning experiences.

Jaypee Business School has started two Industry collaboration Labs:
1. NSE Lab: JBS has entered into MOU with NSE Academy to use its Smart Alb Simulation Trading Application. It provides students with the experience of trading in the capital market with virtual money.
2. Simulation Lab: JBS has entered into MOU with CESIM Trader Pvt. Ltd. to use simulations developed by them. These simulations provide practical experience to students to understand and manage company operations and access financial and operational performance.
