B.Tech in Biotechnology is a 4-year program that encompasses core and elective courses along with Major Project and Minor Project. Ø   Degree with Hons: Students securing CGPA equal to 8.0 or higher and 160 credits in the first attempt, completing the degree in 4 years

Ø   Proficiency Certificate in stream X:  Students completing degree in four years maintaining >6.5 CGPA with >50% of B. Tech electives (with GPA of >7.0) from stream X and Major project in the same stream X with at least “A” grade.

Ø   Additional certificate of Minor in another Discipline: In compliance with NEP-2020, JIIT provides an opportunity for B Tech Biotechnology students to pursue certificate of Minor in Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI&ML) and Universal Human Value. Students completing degree (160 credits) in four years with additional 20 credits in minor discipline. 

Eligibility criteria for admission in B. Tech Biotechnology requires that the candidate should have passed or appeared in 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Physics and Mathematics  as compulsory subjects (for JEE-based admission)/ or Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects (for non-JEE-based admission),  along with one subject out of Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Technical Vocational Subject, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship and English. Students should score at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST) in aggregate in 10+2 or its equivalent examination.
