The Dept. of Military Studies aims to foster the crack officers and civilian personnel who will lead the rapidly changing international situation in the 21st century and the fourth industrial revolution era. The excellent faculty of former three-star officials and tactics instructors who possessed the strong confidence of security and military in command of troops will be invited as professors with practical military capabilities. Also, the systematic military education training environment complete with an advanced lecturing system, physical training facilities available for this department only, and a basic military training center will provide proper education to train the specialized futureoriented militarists. As a result, in the first year of this department being established: 60% of freshmen passed an officer exam and successfully received a military scholarship (paid tuition for four academic years). Considering the fact that the demand for officers and civilian personnel is increasing due to an insufficient number of people joining the army from a population decrease and reduced service term, the department introduced a multi-major system to achieve 100% commission (employment) as well as to diversify the career path of the students after graduation. This department educates on the basic features of training an officer which include English proficiency (TOEIC), computing (IT), material arts (black belt), physical strength, etc. through a graduation certification system for which 90% of the freshmen obtained a Taekwondo Dan certificate and passed the Korean history proficiency test and, of them, Taekwondo is recommended to the students to obtain a three-degree black belt when classed as a senior in university.
