For the purpose of economic diversification and the country’s sustainable growth, strategies have been chalked out in Oman also to make Logistics one of the national priorities of Vision 2040. The programme thus aims at developing the ability to apply management skills in the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. It prepares the students to identify, analyze, and solve practical problems, by applying knowledge of business, transportation, finance, and trade etc.

Students seeking direct admission to the programme should possess the following minimum entry requirements:
a. General Education Diploma (Equivalent to 12 years of schooling) or equivalent qualification approved by the Ministry Of Education, the Sultanate Of Oman
b. General Foundation Programme completion certificate;
c. Students who do not have GFP Certificate will have to take MEC Placement Tests to determine their proficiency levels in English, Math and Computing. Depending on their proficiency levels reflected in the Placement Tests, students will be placed in appropriate levels of MEC Foundation Programme.

  • English Language in the GFP can be exempted on producing IELTS (International English Language Testing System) certificate with a score of 5.5 and above, a TOEFL equivalent or an equivalent international certification
  • Computing component of the GFP can be exempted if the candidate has successfully completed the ICDL or IC3 or any equivalent international diploma in IT skills.
  • Mathematics component in the GFP (General and Pure Mathematics/Applied Mathematics) modules can be exempted:
    – If the candidate secures pass score in Paper 1 of Test of Mathematics for University Admission-TMUA or
    – If the candidate secures 3/pass/satisfactory score in Paper 1 of Sixth Term Examination Paper (STEP)

A score of 60% and above in MEC placement test in each of the component would enable the student for exemption from General Foundation programme.
