Master of Laws is ideal for law graduates wanting to develop in-depth knowledge of a particular legal area, or those wanting to advance their professional expertise in a current area of practice. Students will gain advanced professional skills and knowledge of law developments, practice and scholarship of one or more areas of law. The course offers nine specializations: Commercial Law, Dispute resolution, Government law and regulatory practice, Human rights law, Intellectual property and communications law, International and comparative law, law and international development, Law studies, and Workplace and employment law. Students can focus on a specialized area or select from a broad range of electives for professional practice. Students will gain an understanding of law research methods and skills necessary to support law-related work and choose a program of study in which they plan and execute a major research-based project with a high level of personal autonomy and accountability. A bachelor degree in law (or equivalent) from a non-Australian jurisdiction.

A letter from the Victorian Legal Admissions Board (VLAB) stipulating which areas of law are required to meet the academic eligibility requirements for admission to practice in Victoria. The letter from VLAB must be dated within 12 months of submitting your application for study.
