The Master of Civil and Environmental Engineering (MCEE) is a professional non-thesis degree requiring 30 semester hours of approved courses (at or above the 500 level) including a final project of 2 semester hours. Students who have a BS or BA degree in any field of engineering or related study may apply. Depending on their background, some students may need to fulfill prerequisites or take remedial engineering courses to earn the MCEE degree. Program Learning Outcomes—Graduates awarded the MCEE in Civil and Environmental Engineering will be able to: Demonstrate a solid foundation in civil and environmental engineering at the graduate level. Demonstrate professional written and oral communication skills. Degree Requirements—To earn a MCEE degree, students must: Complete at least 30 semester hours of graduate level courses including one semester of graduate seminar (CEVE 601/602) and a final project (CEVE 590). At least 24 semester hours must be at Rice University (no more than 6 hours of transfer credit is allowed) All courses must be in the relevant field. Fulfill the minimum residency, which is one fall or spring semester in full-time or part-time graduate study. Read less
