Master of Biology

The purpose of the educational program is to train a generalist and subject-specialized biologist with in-depth, systematic theoretical knowledge and practical skills in fundamental and contemporary areas of scientific biology.

Upon successful completion of the educational program, students will be able to: Apply knowledge in management psychology and project management to modernize production and technological processes in professional activities; Integrate advances in molecular biology and reproductive biology with emerging technologies to address research challenges; Interpret core principles, patterns, and current trends in the development of biological science and biological research schools in Kazakhstan and abroad to solve research problems; Engage in motivated research in biology using classical and modern methods for planning and conducting biological experiments, analyzing biological processes, and evaluating and interpreting experimental data; Critically assess the composition, structure, and function of ecosystems, flora, and fauna using bioindication, biomonitoring, and biotesting methods to develop strategies for the sustainable use of biological resources and biodiversity conservation; Apply modern research methods and technologies, along with language communication and academic writing skills, to achieve professional and research objectives within the scientific community; Evaluate the current state of biocenoses and phytocenotic relationships among plant populations and communities to enhance the efficiency and conservation of biological resources; Plan research activities to develop collections that preserve the gene pool of medicinal and food plants, improve breeding processes, create new plant forms, and support the medical field with renewable phyto-raw materials and biologically active plant-based substances through plant biotechnology methods; Develop technologies for cultivating introduced plants using modern acclimatization methods for non-native species; Demonstrate professional pedagogical skills in organizing both collaborative and individual educational activities in biology, employing modern teaching technologies.
