The purpose of the educational program is to prepare qualified biologists with professional competencies, attitudes, and values that meet current local and global labor market demands. Graduates will be skilled in using modern information and communication technologies in biology and related sciences.
Upon successful completion of the educational program, students will be able to: Describe the anatomical, morphological, chemical, and physiological characteristics, primary active compounds, and techniques for collecting, storing, and using medicinal and poisonous plants, utilizing Latin terminology in specialized biological disciplines; Synthesize information from various sources using information and communication technologies to present structured ideas and create texts in scientific and academic genres, suited to the specific scientific field; Select woody plants based on their external and internal structures, taxonomic position, intraspecific variability, phylogeny, physiology, ecological traits, geographical distribution, and economic value, applying soil science knowledge; Plan and organize recreation areas within and outside cities, utilizing principles of landscaping, ornamental plant cultivation, floriculture, landscape architecture, and interior phytodesign with natural material compositions; Process, analyze, and collect scientific and technical information, accurately defining research objectives and goals to plan and organize biological studies; Implement measures to protect and introduce plants in specially protected natural areas and reserves, managing threats from pests and diseases based on environmental biomonitoring and knowledge of plant and animal ecology; Analyze studied materials to identify characteristic structural features and animal pathologies, and trace advancements in their biological organization; Demonstrate well-rounded knowledge in ecology and life safety, economics and entrepreneurship, law, anti-corruption culture, and research methodologies; Evaluate technological processes according to contemporary standards, including optimal parameters and necessary calculations for technical reporting, operational data preparation, and experiment monitoring in organism reproduction; Organize research on quantitative and qualitative characteristics of biological objects using specialized mathematical methods and statistical analysis, incorporating field and laboratory studies to produce animal and plant products; Integrate foundational natural science concepts, theoretical principles, and historical aspects of organism development, and recognize common research methods, patterns, and mechanisms of organic world development across scientific fields; Apply theoretical knowledge of resource science, plant propagation principles, biological diversity in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, current biodiversity status, and strategies for sustainable natural resource use and conservation.
