The Faculty of Health Sciences provides
opportunities for research to MPhil and PhD level or MPhil with transfer to
PhD. The PhD route requires in-depth investigation of a topic and an original
contribution to existing knowledge (up to 80,000 words). As part of the
research development students may also complete a short course (the
Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods) that builds up their knowledge
and skills concerning the nature and practicalities of academic research.
