This course forms the first year of a four-year degree programme and will give you a progressive hands-on understanding of yourself as a learning practitioner. We provide students with their own dedicated workspace within a designated art or design studio. Our staff are active professionals in their field and equip our students with the essential skills needed to progress onto one of our degree awards within the School of Creative Arts and Engineering. The Primary aim of this course is to prepare students for BA (Hons) degree courses in Art and Design. Students that successfully complete the Foundation year automatically progress to a range of BA (Hons) degree courses such as 3D Designer Maker, Animation, Cartoon and Comic Arts, Fashion Design, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, Product Design, Stop Motion Animation and Puppet Making, Surface Pattern Design, Textile Surfaces or Transport Design. On completion of the foundation year, 99% of our students progress onto one of our art or design degree courses.
