The Pediatrics (Pediatric Medicine) program at Tashkent State Medical University is a 6-year undergraduate medical degree designed to train highly qualified pediatric physicians. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in basic medical sciences, including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histology, microbiology, and pathology, followed by specialized pediatric disciplines.
Students receive comprehensive clinical training in neonatology, pediatric internal medicine, pediatric surgery, infectious diseases, cardiology, neurology, emergency pediatric care, and child development. Clinical rotations take place in leading pediatric hospitals and university-affiliated medical centers, where students gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating infants, children, and adolescents.
The program emphasizes child-centered care, preventive medicine, early detection of diseases, and evidence-based treatment. Students also develop communication skills, clinical decision-making, and the ability to work with families and multidisciplinary teams. Research activities, academic conferences, and practical workshops further strengthen their professional competencies.
Graduates of this program are prepared to enter pediatric residency programs or pursue subspecialties such as neonatology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric neurology, pediatric surgery, or child rehabilitation.
