The Biotechnology degree at UAX prepares you for the future of the sector with an updated curriculum that includes innovative subjects in high-demand fields such as omics sciences, biosafety, bioremediation, and Big Data. You will also study foundational and advanced subjects including biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, developmental biology, biostatistics, genetics, and organic chemistry.
Biotechnology is one of the most promising technologies for scientific advancement and development across medicine, agri-food, industrial production, and environmental sustainability, contributing directly to social well-being. For example, in the Biotechnology program at UAX, students learn to apply biological technology to develop new pharmaceuticals and vaccines, renewable energy sources, natural fuels, clinical trials, cellular therapies for tumors and leukemias, more effective cosmetics, healthier foods, more resistant and less polluting materials, and methods to clean contaminated water and land.
