Being in constant contact with the sector’s leading healthcare organisations enables us to anticipate their needs and tailor your training so that you acquire the skills they require: with high-level practical experience from the very first year, a digital profile, familiarity with the healthcare technology of the future, telemedicine, and person-centred care.
So how will we train you in these skills on the UAX Bachelor’s degree in Nursing?
- You’ll train in the Virtual Hospital and using advanced simulation: a recreation of the wards and dynamics of a real hospital, so that you’re immersed in the professional environment from day one.
- Pre-clinical experiential placements: you’ll tackle all kinds of clinical situations, gaining experience in areas such as operating theatres, intensive care units, A&E, inpatient wards, admissions… and much more. You’ll develop clinical reasoning, practise your skills and abilities, and work on patient communication, assertiveness, empathy, understanding and teamwork, all with the aim of improving the patient experience.
- Clinical placements: you will complete over 2,300 hours of placements in social and healthcare centres, leading hospitals and primary care centres. We have partnerships with organisations such as: Clinica Asturias, Clinica Begoña, Ribera Covadonga Hospital, Grupo Lares, Grupo Domusvi, SEKUENS, FINBA, CSIC and biotech companies.
