The UAX Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Music Performance is the ideal choice for artists seeking to develop their musical skills and specialise within an exciting field that has a significant impact on society. 


We offer a multidisciplinary programme focused on performance and the development of instrumental skills, taught by a professional teaching staff of performers and composers with extensive teaching experience and a strong reputation. 


At UAX, you’ll receive support every step of the way, including one and a half hours of one-to-one instrumental tuition with your tutor each week. 


We provide you with an incredible campus, situated in the centre of Madrid and equipped with 11,000 m² of modern, specialised facilities, including more than 40 practice rooms, so that you can develop your talent in a motivating and dynamic environment.


Music knows no borders, which is why we include foreign language tuition in the curriculum and offer our students the opportunity to take part in Erasmus exchanges or study abroad in countries all over the world.

Admission Requirements

Selective specific music test
· Performance (70%), Harmony (15%), Sight-reading (15%).
· To be admitted, the student must pass the test and obtain at least a 5/10 in the performance section.

· Can be taken in person or online.
- In-person:

 - Part A (70%): Performance of a program consisting of three contrasting pieces. The student must provide accompanying musicians or a playalong. Max duration: 20 min.

 - Part B (15%): Written test of music theory and harmonic analysis. Max duration: 60 min.

 - Part C (15%): Sight-reading. Includes melodic reading for all instruments except drums; accompaniment from lead sheets (American cipher) for bassists, pianists, and guitarists; and a sight-improvisation passage for all instruments. Max duration: 10 min.

- Online:

 - Part A (70%): Audiovisual submission of three contrasting pieces.
 - Part B (15%): Online written test of music theory and harmonic analysis.
 - Part C (15%): Online sight-reading (same specs as in-person).
