The Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing that will turn you into the expert that hospitals and patients are looking for: experienced, digitally savvy and people-focused.
Being in constant contact with leading organisations in the healthcare sector allows us to anticipate their needs and tailor your training so that you acquire the skills they require: practical experience, a digital profile, familiarity with medical technology and telemedicine, and, above all, a patient-centred approach.
So how will we develop these skills in the UAX Bachelor’s degree in Nursing?
- Over 30 per cent of your practical training will take place at the UAX Virtual Simulation Hospital: a 2,000 m² recreation of the wards and workflows of a real hospital, so that you are immersed in the professional environment from day one.
- Pre-clinical experiential placements: you’ll tackle all kinds of situations, practise in operating theatres, the ICU, consultation rooms and admissions, develop clinical reasoning, hone your skills and work on patient communication, assertiveness, empathy, understanding and the full patient experience.
- Clinical placements (starting in the first year): You will complete over 2,300 hours of placements in top-tier centres, care homes and hospitals, both private and public (we are the private university with the most placement agreements with public hospitals), and you will rotate through all nursing specialisms.
- Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to undertake your placements at the Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital. This is one of the hospitals included in the select group of the World’s Best Hospitals 2022 and a leader in patient satisfaction in the Community of Madrid.
- Our clinical teaching staff comprises professionals specialising in each area of expertise: the team consists of practising professionals, and over 80 per cent of the staff are linked to the healthcare system, ensuring you receive up-to-date training.
- We are the only university in Spain to implement a competency-based assessment model from the very first year, ensuring that students develop the skills necessary for their future careers from day one.
