The Medical Professional Education Study Program (PSPPD) is a form of medical professional education activity that is academically professional in nature based on science and professionalism which is a unified and solid unit. This study program takes the form of clinical learning experiences (clinical clerks) and field learning experiences (community medicine clerks) in real health care settings, particularly medical services in teaching hospitals and in the community. At the Teaching Hospital, clinical learning experiences are obtained by conducting academic activities and professional activities by means of internships. Students study and work under the direction and guidance of a senior hospital lecturer or doctor.
The curriculum material for the Medical Professional Education Study Program is provided in the form of skills obtained through academic activities in the form of a learning process held at the Main Teaching Hospital and Hospitals and Network Health Centers which are regulated through rotation in all departments by emphasizing the achievement of competencies as stated in the Competency Standards Indonesian Doctors (SKDI) 2012 issued by the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI).
The study load of students of the Medical Professional Education Study Program is presented as a predetermined package and to be able to achieve a doctor's degree, each student must be able to complete 14 clinical clerkships or 38 credits. The academic activities of the Medical Professional Education Study Program are divided into 14 sections, consisting of 5 major sections (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Public Health) each for 10 (ten) weeks equivalent to 4 credits and 9 minor sections (Radiology, Otolaryngology, Dermatology and Venereology, Neuroscience, Anesthesia, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Forensic Medicine and Medicolegal,
