This course provides a conceptual process and context for the development of creative and innovative products, which includes the study of socio-cultural and economic issues; new technologies; and creative visual language in relation to the student's practice. Students undertake individual research projects using an integrated product design process. They also develop and communicate design solutions which align with design criteria and respond to broader issues such as lifestyles, markets or the information economy.You’ll undertake individual research projects using an integrated product design process, and develop design solutions which fit with an overarching theme, and for added inspiration you’ll have the opportunity to go on a study visit abroad alongside undergraduate design students and alumni, maintaining the sense of community among students.

A good Honours degree (normally 2.1 or above) or equivalent qualification in a chosen subject or a related discipline, and/or Relevant work experience, demonstrating the ability to study at postgraduate level. Applicants may be invited to interview and asked to present a portfolio of work. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.
