This critical component of business has dramatically changed over the last ten years to become much more of a strategic entity than just a management function as business leaders begin to understand that effective human resources practices directly impact the performance of the company. Program Strengths: Small, close-knit program, Faculty with real-world experience in private and public organizations, Classes provide working knowledge of the practice of human resources management, not just theory, Internship and networking opportunities through relationships with major companies and organizations in the area, Projects that incorporate service-learning elements. Potential careers in Human Resources: Human resource positions are typically found in medium-to-large companies in all industries, including health care, insurance, government, education, manufacturing and service organizations. Roles might include: Human resources management/administration, Labor relations, Training and development, Compensation and benefits. Human Resources might be for you if: You have excellent interpersonal skills, You are sensitive to the needs of others, You show strength and compassion for others, You have strong written and oral communication skills, You enjoy problem solving.
