Engage with concepts such as the philosophy of religion, the nature of sin and the impact of religion on modern culture. With courses such as Old Testament Life & Literature, The Historical Jesus and World Religions, you can prepare yourself for a future in service, in the church or wherever your life's calling takes you. Potential careers in religion: A major in religion will give you a chance to sharpen your critical thinking, research and communication skills as you explore your specific calling. Graduates of our program have moved on to careers and experiences in: Ordained ministry: Many of our graduates go to seminary to pursue ordination in their church. A religion major supplemented with a pre-theology concentration can prepare you for a life of service in the church. Graduate studies: In addition to studying theology or divinity, our students have gone on to graduate studies in religion and many other fields. Specialized ministries: Many religion students interested in music ministries will double major in programs like music. Social work: Service-oriented fields go hand-in-hand with studies in religion. Many of our alumni have united their call to ministry with their dedication to public service as social workers. Nonprofit work: There are organizations around the world in need of leadership.
