Our MA in Political Science is designed to foster a deeper understanding of politics across the world at multiple scales (domestic, regional, global) while also allowing students to develop the analytical and professional skills required for success in both academic and non-academic job markets. With 21 faculty members in our department and additional associated faculty, our program offers a wide range of courses and graduate research supervision and opportunities across a broad range of topic areas. We offer both traditional and interdisciplinary courses, as well as inter-university course options.  Students will also benefit enormously from our formal links with international research institutions including Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and the Balsillie School of  International Affairs.

Minimum requirements: (1) An Honours Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Political Science with at least a 78% overall standing; (2) Statement of Research; (3) Students with an Honours BA in a related discipline will be considered for admission but may be required to complete further work in Political Science before proceeding. Students with a General Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science may be admitted to a qualifying program, and then apply for admission to the Master of Arts (MA) program after completion of that program; (4) Probationary students admitted to the program must achieve at least 75% in 2 predetermined courses in order to continue in the Winter term. Normally a student will not continue on probationary status for more than two terms; (5) Transitional students admitted are normally required to complete additional predetermined undergraduate or graduate courses and achieve at least a 75% average. // Application materials: (1) Résumé; (2) Supplementary information form; (3) Transcript(s); (4) Writing sample. // For further information on admission requirements please check with the University for entry.
