This program offers students a diverse curriculum in commonly and less commonly taught language Spanish and it is designed to lead to communicative language competency, exposure to a various literatures and cultures, a global education. In this major students are prepared for a productive role in a rapidly changing world, an educational setting where they will learn to connect knowledge and skills to their social responsibilities, build moral character through encounters with different cultures, traditions, values, virtues and norms, departmental study abroad programs in Italy and Spain. This program consists of required courses for 18 credits and electives for 9 credits. The learning outcomes are: control of vocabulary; reading comprehension; language structure; literature; culture; listening comprehension; writing; oral proficiency; research and information gathering.
