The Master’s Degree Program in Safety, Food Security and Public Health prepares graduates of bachelor programs in Food Products Engineering with advanced knowledge and professional skills in food safety, food security, and public health. The program is designed to ensure high qualification levels, enabling graduates to integrate rapidly into the labor market, adapt to changing conditions, and assume roles requiring technical leadership and innovation. It aligns with the strategic plan of the university, ensuring continuity, complementarity, and sustainability between bachelor and master studies in accordance with national and international standards. Students acquire competencies in identifying, assessing, and managing risks in the food system; understanding and applying legislation, standards, and policies on food safety, security, and public health; analyzing, processing, and controlling food products for safety, quality, and compliance; and collaborating effectively with national and international stakeholders across the entire food chain. The program also provides knowledge on rapid alert systems, preventive measures, emergency response, and the integration of environmental and public health considerations in food production systems. The program prepares graduates to take on professional roles in food safety, food security, public health, consultancy, quality assurance, and research. It also equips students with the skills and knowledge required to pursue doctoral studies in food engineering and related interdisciplinary fields. Graduates are awarded the professional title Master in Food Products Engineering, with the qualification Safety, Food Security and Public Health. Total duration: 2 years (120 ECTS).
