The CSE program follows the Outcome Based Education (OBE) approach. The curriculum is revised every three years to include contemporary fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and Data Analytics. Students also complete an Integrated Design Project as part of their final year requirements.
Selection is based on a combined merit list. This list is calculated using: 60% from the written admission test score, 20% from HSC/equivalent results (Math, Physics, Chemistry), and 20% from SSC/equivalent results. Department allocation is then based on the candidate's merit position and their preferred choice of department.
The department is equipped with state-of-the-art labs, including a specialized Cyber Security Lab, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Lab, Software Engineering Lab, and a Networking Lab. These facilities provide hands-on experience with the latest industry-standard tools and hardware.
Yes, the B.Sc. in CSE program at MIST is accredited by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE) of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). This accreditation ensures that the program meets high-quality education standards and that graduates are recognized as professional engineers.
Absolutely. Students can join the MIST Computer Club (MCC) for programming contests and hackathons, and the MIST Cyber Security Club, which focuses on CTF competitions and digital forensics. Additionally, there are specialized wings for Robotics and Data Science that regularly represent MIST in both national and international arenas.
