The Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NAME) at MIST offers two specialized postgraduate degrees—Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Master of Engineering (M.Engg.)—designed to provide advanced academic and professional training in the maritime sector. Launched in the 2019-2020 academic session, these programs focus on strengthening research capabilities and innovation in ship and offshore system design, covering critical fields such as marine hydrodynamics, ship structural analysis, marine propulsion, and computational modeling. The curriculum is specifically tailored to prepare engineers to navigate complex contemporary issues in maritime safety, sustainability, and emerging technologies. Supported by a highly qualified pool of PhD-holding faculty and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities—including a Towing Tank and Stability Test Lab and a Computer Aided Ship Design Lab—the program equips graduates for leadership roles in the global shipbuilding industry, defense organizations, and academia.

1) A candidate must have a minimum GPA of 4.00 out of 5.00 or a first division or equivalent in S.S.C. and H.S.C. or in equivalent examinations.

2) A candidate must have at least 55% marks or a minimum GPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 or its equivalent in B.Sc.Engg.
