The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science and Engineering at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) is an elite research-driven program designed to produce technologically advanced intellectual leaders capable of addressing the complex computational challenges of the 21st century. Rooted in a high-discipline academic environment, the program offers a rigorous platform for scholars to engage in high-impact original research across diverse domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Data Science, Robotics, and Network Security. To be eligible for this prestigious degree, candidates must demonstrate a stellar academic record, typically requiring a minimum GPA of 4.00 out of 5.00 in both S.S.C. and H.S.C., alongside a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with at least 60% marks or a GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00. The program emphasizes an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) model, encouraging students to push the boundaries of existing knowledge through collaborative research with national and international communities. Under the mentorship of a distinguished faculty—many of whom hold doctorates from world-renowned universities—doctoral candidates utilize state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, including the MIST Cyber Range and specialized AI labs, to develop innovative solutions for both military and civilian applications. By fostering a culture of integrity, critical thinking, and technical excellence, the PhD program at MIST empowers researchers to contribute significantly to the global scientific body, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical computer science and sustainable socio-economic development.
