The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical, Electronic, and Communication Engineering (EECE) at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) is a pinnacle research program designed to cultivate high-level intellectual leaders for the global technology landscape. Operating under a rigorous, disciplined framework, the program provides an advanced platform for scholars to investigate complex challenges across three major pillars: Power, Electronics, and Communication. Since its inception in the 2014-15 session, the PhD program has emphasized an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) model, requiring candidates to bridge the gap between theoretical mastery and practical industrial application. To qualify, applicants must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00, supported by a strong foundation in earlier academic stages. Research scholars at MIST benefit from access to high-tier facilities such as the High Voltage Lab, VLSI Lab, Radar Engineering Lab, and the Digital Signal Processing Lab, facilitating breakthroughs in domains like renewable energy integration, optical fiber communication, and thin-film technology. Beyond technical expertise, the program instills military-grade professional ethics and leadership. By mandating high-impact original research published in globally recognized journals, MIST ensures its doctoral graduates are equipped to drive sustainable development and lead innovative technological transitions in both defense and civil sectors.
