This second-year Multimedia Networking Master’s program offers advanced training in information theory, source coding, signal processing for multimedia, networking, and multimedia security. An important part of the program is devoted to optimizing network architecture and protocols for the delivery of audio-visual content. Many of the courses are taught through labs to make theoretical notions more concrete, while a multidisciplinary research project helps prepare students for subsequent research work. Students will also follow seminars on current research and key industrial applications. This Master’s program aims to train students on topics associated with compressing multimedia content, transmitting compressed data through a network, and developing algorithms and network architectures for a fast, reliable, and efficient access to multimedia content.

Completion of the first year of a Master in Electrical Engineering at Institut Polytechnique de Paris or equivalent in France or abroad.
The program is open to students with a first-year Master’s degree in applied mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, or communication and networking, or in their final year at engineering school.
Foreign students with majors in applied mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, or communication and networking are also welcomed.
A background in signal processing, probability theory, linear algebra, and networking is useful, although refresher sessions are provided at the beginning of this Master program.
