The Quantitative Sociology and Demography (SQD) course offers innovative and demanding training in quantitative sociology and demography and computational social sciences in line with the most contemporary developments in the discipline. The course offers an integrated and progressive course in master 1 and master 2. Students benefit from learning built up throughout the 4 semesters through fundamental lessons training them in sociological reasoning coupled with learning demographic and statistical methods, from the most classic to the most innovative, and software (SAS, STATA, R, Python) dedicated to the collection, processing and analysis of data, taught and practiced during the training. They collectively learn to design an original quantitative survey, to administer it and to analyze the data collected. This program is available in French.

Admission Requirements

Academic prerequisites

  • Completion of a degree, or equivalent, at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, in France or abroad in sociology, political science, demography, economics.

OR
  • Completion of a statistics course (Bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and social sciences, statistics).
