The Bachelor of Music degree offers six specialized majors: performance, composition, music industry, music education, jazz studies and music theatre. All music majors must complete the General Education program and a 30 credit hour core program of music courses common to all the majors’ curricula. The major requirements of composition cover the following courses: musical form and analysis music composition; counterpoint; orchestration; topics in music analysis; advanced seminar in musicological topics; senior graduation recital.Applied major study ensembles (one each semester) ,music literature or seminar electives, and approved music electives. Career Opportunities The various programs offered by the school can lead students to a wide range of careers. Programs in performance or composition are intended for students who desire to continue their musical training in graduate programs that will prepare them for professional careers in performance, composition and/or teaching at the college level. Applicants can have the grade equivalent in the U.S. system: a 'B' average or a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 GPA grading scale. Other English Language Requirements accepted: PBT (Paper Based TOEFL): 550.
