Teacher training prepares students for a career as a teacher in Dutch secondary education (lower and higher grades). After completing the teacher training programme, you will be awarded a (second) master’s degree and a Dutch teacher qualification in the school subject of your teacher training programme.

In order to gain admission to the teacher training programme, you must hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in the subject you would like to teach. Besides, if you have not achieved a Secondary Education qualification in the Netherlands, you have to prove your proficiency in Dutch (writing and speaking) through an advanced Dutch language exam. This master programme trains students to become a teacher in the Dutch educational system; the training programme is therefore taught in Dutch.
