The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 2011 and the academic program is being implemented from August 2012. The Department is conducting 4 years B.Tech course in Electrical Engineering. The Department has also started M.Tech and Ph.Dprogramme since 2018. The department has well established laboratories for imparting practical knowledge to students. The Department is also handling some sponsored projects. The primary focus of the Department is to impart quality education with Practical knowledge and ethic. The students also have the opportunities to gain industrial exposure through industrial training programme. The Department has successfully placed students in renounced public sector companies like Power Grid Co-operation of India. Students also have the opportunity to participate in NCC 1 Mizo Air Sqn. and obtain C certificate.

Admission Requirements

B.Tech: A candidate who has passed the higher secondary or 10+2 (Class XII) Examination or its equivalent from any recognized board having secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (relax able by 5% for SC/ST candidates) M.Tech: A candidate who has passed B.Tech/M.Sc. or Equivalent Examination in relevant branch from any recognized institute or university having a minimum 55% marks (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate shall be eligible for admission.
