The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 2004, formerly named the Graduate School of Applied Electronics Technology (AET). Belonging to the oldest and best normal university in Taiwan, the department is a main training center for not only future engineers but also teachers in vocational high schools.
To offer a competitive career development for students, our department strives to integrate innovative technologies and practical applications in class. We focus on three main research areas: System-on-a-Chip (SoC), multimedia and communication, and intelligent control and robotics. In addition, we also engage various disciplines of electrical, electronics, information and control engineering.
Currently, the department has 17 full-time faculty members, offering a full range of both undergraduate and graduate (master and PhD) programs. The student body includes 80 graduate students and 190 undergraduate students.

Admission Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Chinese Language Proficiency:
- Chinese proficiency certificate at CEFR Levels B1 (or above)
- Those who choose the Chinese-taught program are required to provide a Chinese language proficiency certificate.
- English Language Proficiency:
- English proficiency certificate at CEFR Levels B2 (or above)
- Those who choose the English-taught program are required to provide an English language proficiency certificate.
- Not required for applicants from English-speaking countries (proof required).
- Not required for applicants whose previous degree is from English-speaking countries (proof required).
