The National University of Ostroh Academy

The National University of Ostroh Academy (NUOA) is the successor to the Ostroh Slavic, Greek, and Latin Academy, one of the first higher educational establishments of the Eastern Slavs, founded in 1576. NUOA is a higher educational institution licensed and accredited by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine. The university provides an excellent environment combining rigorous academic training with a rich cultural atmosphere, enabling students to understand Ukrainian history and culture more deeply. Teaching and research at the National University of Ostroh Academy are organized through its institutes. The university comprises five Educational and Scientific Institutes offering prestigious academic programs.

There are five Institutes offering different majors: 

• Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Management ; 
• Educational and Scientific Institute of Law named after I. Malynovskyi ; 
• Educational and Scientific Institute of Information Technology and Business ;
• Educational and Scientific Institute of Linguistics;
• Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations and National Security.

Achievements of the National University of Ostroh Academy:

• Constant focus on the quality of education and fulfilment of sustainable development goals, which is confirmed by being included in the leading international rankings (THE Impact Rankings, UI Green Metric, U-Multirank); 
• In the top ten rankings of transparency of national universities (The Center for the Study of Society).
• Records and international events: Two Guinness World Records (the longest poetry marathon, the largest lecture on archaeology), 10 records of Ukraine in the field of mass events. The organisation of large-scale international forums such as the Ostroh Forum and diplomatic meetings.

International Cooperation:

• Member of the Eastern European Network of Universities.
• Member of the European Association of Universities.
• Member of the Consortium of Ukrainian Universities and the University of Warsaw.
• Over 100 agreements with universities and research institutions from more than 20 countries.
• Participation in numerous international programmes, including Erasmus+ etc.

• Given its status as a critical enterprise, its uniqueness in the region and the country, its town-forming function, and its important mission, the university contributes to the national economy of Ukraine.

Scientific Achievements:

• The university is a leader in the country in terms of the number of projects supported by international funds.  (Erasmus+ projects of the Jean Monnet line, Phoenix project (Eastern Europe Foundation), and Jean Monnet project, Centres of Excellence project of the International Visegrad Fund, projects of cooperation with the Swedish Defence University, 5th Erasmus+ project KA2. Capacity building in higher education, a project under the UK-Ukraine R&I twinning grants, fundamental grants from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine).
