What are the rules for admission to study under the educational program?
The requirements for admission tests, which are determined by the peculiarities of the EP, are specified in the Rules for admission to study at SUTE. Applicants enter SUTE based on the results of the Unified Entrance Exam and the SUTE professional exam. The programs of SUTE professional exams are posted on the university's website in the section "Applicant" - "Master Programme Admission".
The professional entrance examination program contains the main theoretical provisions of the disciplines "Stylistics of English as the first foreign language", "Practice of translation from the first foreign language", "Fundamentals of the theory of language communication".
What positions can you apply for after graduation?
The graduate can hold the positions in accordance with the National Classifier of Professions DK 003:2010: English teacher for corporate clients, language consultant, methodologist and academic consultant on teaching foreign languages, expert in the field of language education, translator, editor-translator, manager - translator, copywriter-translator, personal assistant.
What are the main courses included in the program?
Pedagogy and Methods in Foreign Language Teaching; Communicative Strategies of Professional English; Linguistic and Literature Studies; Modern Information Technology in Teaching Foreign Languages; Subject Area Terminology Translation; English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
How does the final attestation take place upon completion of studies?
Attestation is carried out in the form of Master’s degree final paper public defense.
The final qualifying paper is aimed at solving a specific and / or practical problem in the field of philology.
The final qualification paper shall not contain academic plagiarism, fabrication and / or falsification.
What teaching and learning methods are used by the department staff?
Interactive learning with the use of modern educational technologies and methods (cases, trainings, master classes). The general concept of training is determined by the focus on the individual interaction of a teacher and the student; a balanced combination of theoretical and practical training; work with scientific and other professional databases; writing scientific papers; conducting research and participating in conferences, round-table discussions, communication with experts in the field of philology.
