The program combines theoretical and practical training. On the one hand, it teaches students to analyze artworks, artists, and movements; on the other, it provides tools for working in museums, galleries, art fairs, foundations, collections, cultural spaces, and independent projects. Students learn to situate artistic production within its historical and social context and to participate in the processes of exhibiting, appraising, and circulating art, both locally and internationally.
The program is organized into two cycles. The first cycle, lasting two and a half years, awards the title of University Art Critic. The advanced cycle completes the training and leads to the Bachelor of Arts degree, incorporating a broader understanding of the workings of the contemporary art system.
