The objective of the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a major in Power Systems is to train specialists in the new concepts and modern methods of analysis, control, planning, design and operation of electric power generation, transmission and distribution systems, so that they can face the current challenges associated with the growth of our electrical system and those that imply its transformation to become a modern electrical power system.
To award the degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a major in Power Systems to participants who successfully complete all the courses of the Master's degree and who have prepared and approved a Master's thesis that closes the process that has qualified them to work in the positions of higher level power systems specialists in the stages of generation, transmission, distribution, and mining and industrial plants in the country, for the improvement and optimization of the operation and control of the components of the electrical power system. Likewise, they are trained to carry out research and technological development activities in the design, construction, and testing of electrical power system equipment.
