In 1999, the FAUA Postgraduate Unit started a new Master's program called URBAN RENEWAL. Since then, this field of study has been developing uninterruptedly, focusing on deteriorated areas of cities.
This master's degree, now called Urban Regeneration, focuses on how the city has been revitalizing areas through trends in land use changes, investment alternatives and other interventions that enable spatial regeneration within a strict planning framework. Urban regeneration is therefore an integral, vital and dynamic concept, linked to management.
The curriculum of the Master's degree in Urban Regeneration is structured with theoretical and practical courses, which allow students to learn about specific experiences through analysis and reflection on them. It also carefully studies the framework of social, economic, legal, physical and financial management in this new field of disciplinary development.
