This programme is designed to equip future accounting and finance professionals with the knowledge and skills to succeed. The broad-based syllabus is flexibly tailored for those who wish to enhance the accountancy or finance components of their primary degrees and who wish to pursue a career in this area.
This degree at a ranked and accredited business school prepares its graduates for roles in the finance function of Irish PLCs and multinational companies, leading accounting services firms, and for accounting roles in the finance industry. The programme strikes a forward-focussed relevant balance between technical skills and essential theoretical grounding. This is reflected in our holistic teaching approach combining the School’s inspiring academic faculty with contributions from distinguished visiting business leaders.
Graduates from the programme start their CIMA examinations at the Strategic Case Study level. This is the top level of CIMA exams. Students who are successful in the Strategic Case Study just need to demonstrate they have met CIMAs Practical Experience Requirements before joining as a CGMA.
Graduates from the programme who have completed the relevant modules are entitled to seven exemptions from ACCA including Financial Management (FM), Financial Reporting (FR) and Performance Management (PM). Details can be found on the ACCA website.

An honours bachelor business degree with a minimum 2.1 award at NFQ Level 8 (or international equivalent) AND have demonstrated strong academic ability (a 1.1 or 2.1) in their accounting and finance modules at undergraduate level.
Exceptional applicants with strong academic results (a 1.1 or high 2.1) in a degree (NFQ Level 8 or international equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Economics, or another quantitative discipline may be considered.
