The program is taught by the Victorian College of the Arts at the Southbank campus and offers immersive and experiential practice-based studio studies. The Bachelor of Fine Arts is designed to train highly skilled arts practitioners who can work independently or in ensemble in a range of careers and performance or production opportunities. The Production specialisation in the Bachelor of Fine Arts trains you to design, create, operate and manage in your chosen area of production. This vocationally oriented degree teaches all aspects of production including set, costume, lighting, audio and vision technology and design, workshop and costume construction and stage management. You will apply knowledge gained in studio classes to practical projects generated both within and beyond the VCA. Given the broad span of work within the VCA, you will have the opportunity to work in a range of capacities for our productions, including dance, theatre and music theatre as well as one-off events.
