Sociology is a subject that investigates the ways in which social life is organised, structured and experienced. This course is designed to develop one’s 'sociological imagination'. The modules within this course will support particular career pathways, prepare students for the world of work, provide volunteering opportunities and the chance to reflect academically on any paid work they do. The teaching is underpinned by research and there are excellent opportunities to get involved with research projects, both within the curriculum and through our research internship scheme. This course will explore: contemporary social issues and problems; classical and contemporary sociological theory; and research methods.
