This Creative and Professional Writing is intended for those who are passionate about words and want to work with them. Students will develop their own creative practice and distinctive voice, and in addition they will study commercial writing – in newspapers and magazines, broadcast media, and business copywriting. This course enables students to study Creative Writing in the USA for a year as part of this degree. While studying in North America, students will learn to write in a variety of styles, voices, and genres. CCCU offers a range of good value specialist Postgraduate masters programmes. The Business School offers four specific masters programmes: an International MBA (An MBA with an international focus), an MSC in Business and Management, and MSc in Marketing and an MSc in Managerial Finance. These programmes are offered with two start dates each year: October and January. The programmes run for 12 - 15 months (depending on the length of time required by a students to complete the final project). The cost of these programmes is : MBA £8,755 MSc programmes £8,355.

Business school programmes

The business school in conjunction with the English and Language Studies Department also run a three months pre-masters preparation programme from End of September through to December (12 weeks). More information is athttp://www.canterbury.ac.uk/international/premasters.asp . This programme prepares people who do not have the necessary IELTS 6.5 level or the necessary background knowledge of business studies. The cost is £2,300 and passing this course leads directly into the January masters programmes starts.

Faculty of Humanities programmes

Film

CCCU has a very active and well known Media Department. The Masters programme offered by the department is Film Production. There are 12 places available for this each year.

Fine Art

The Art department, which owns a gallery in the city centre, offers a Masters in Fine Art - a programme for those wishing to train to be practicing artists

Music

The prestigious music department offers a masters in Music  (MMUS)  it is a performance masters and the university has its own concert hall.

TESOL

The faculty is also internationally well-known for its English Language teaching department and its MA TESOL (Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages). The department has worked closely with Latin American institutions in the delivery of these programmes in Argentina and Mexico.

PhD Linguistics (Research). The English and Language Studies Department is also internationally recognised as an innovative centre for its PhD programmes in the fields of linguistics and TESOL. The Graduate School is particularly interested in students who wish to research cultural issues in TESOL and linguistics generally.

English Literature

The English and Languages department also offers three Masters in English Literature: A general pathway, a pathway in Children's literature and a pathway in Victorian and Modern literature. Canterbury is the home of Chaucer and has strong connections with Christopher Marlowe, Charles Dickens and Jane Austen.

Faculty of Health

The faculty of Health is a major part of the university and offers an MSC to international students in Health Promotion and Public Health. Students need a background in health promotion to include experience of this.

Criminology and Computing

The faculty of Social and Applied Sciences offers an MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice as well as an MSc in Computing
