Spanish, the fourth most prevalent language on the globe, is spoken in 23 countries by more than 400 million people. Spanish is also the "other" language of the United States, where more than 35 million people speak it as their first language. But Spanish as a major is about more than just fluency in the language. We include courses in literature and culture in our curriculum. We also focus more generally on literary theory and criticism, spanning from the medieval period to contemporary times. Graduates of this major go on to: various graduate programs, teach, work in international business.
