The Asian Studies major is designed to provide students with a solid foundation to pursue careers in government service, business, and nongovernmental organizations, as well as for graduate study. The program encompasses economics, foreign languages, history, political science, sociology and religion. Available courses include: Societies and Cultures of East Asia, World Religions, Politics and, Problems of Developing Countries, Traditional Music and Culture in Asia, Asian Literature in Translation. Asian Studies allows students to learn about the inhabitants of the Asian continents. The geographical focus is on the Eurasia and the Asia-Pacific. The program encompasses economics, foreign languages, history, political science, sociology, and religion, and is dedicated to providing opportunities for foreign study and field experiences.
