The Master of Arts in Chicana and Chicano Studies offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of Mexican origin and other Latino/communities in the U.S. and on the U.S.-Mexican borderlands, especially in relation to culture, labor, health, immigration, gender, sexuality, and human rights. We emphasize local, national, transnational, and transborder contexts as well as gender/sexuality and borderlands studies. Our degree enables students to take advantage of local border resources, while providing excellent preparation for continuing onto a doctoral program and/or serving community needs in diverse professional capacities, including law, education, public health, and social services.
