By studying La Trobe's Master of Cybersecurity, you will:

  • master ethical hacking and defence techniques to evaluate the security of network configurations and how to defend network-based threats
  • learn a procedural language that identifies and analyses common coding practices that avoid security vulnerabilities
  • explore the psychology of hacking and cybercrime, its legal and ethical frameworks and approaches to governance and risk management
  • supplement your skills with certifications through our partnership with Microsoft and get hands-on experience in our on-campus Cisco labs
  • choose an industry development project or work-based placement to cement your learning and launch your career, or pursue an applied research project or industry-based thesis
  • have the flexibility to exit early with a Graduate Diploma after one year or a Graduate Certificate after six months or, depending on your previous computer science or IT qualifications, complete your Master's in only 1.5 years
