Honours in Biomedicine gives you the opportunity to specialise in the following disciplines:

- biochemistry and cell biology

- environment and genetics
- human anatomy, physiology and pharmacology

- Projects are located at the Melbourne and Albury-Wodonga La Trobe campuses and at external research institutes such as the Baker Institute and Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute.
By completing Honours, you'll be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in your field and, through your professional behaviours, the values that shape the work of a professional scientist. You'll also have advanced skills in designing and successfully implementing scientific investigations, analysing and interpreting data, and presenting your findings to scientific audiences. You'll also gain an edge in an increasingly competitive job market, have the opportunity to advance to further coursework or research at Masters level or, for outstanding achievers, direct entry into a PhD.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 8 – Bachelor Degree Honours.

Admission Requirements
- Completion of an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with a minimum 60% average WAM across all 3rd year subjects, and
- a minimum WAM of 65 across all 3rd year subjects from the intended Honours discipline, and
- A signed Supervisor and School Acknowledgement form.
