This course is designed for aspiring legal professionals with a global outlook, seeking to blend law with international studies. You will meet the academic requirements to practise Law in NSW while gaining a unique international perspective. In the fourth year you will spend an academic year studying in the local language at a university in the country of your major, as well as completing an honours level research project.

You will acquire a deep understanding of legal principles and practical insights into cross-cultural legal issues, as well as a country-specific major that allows you to develop skills in another language and better understand their culture. This will equip you for roles in international law contexts or providing legal counsel for global entities or foreign investors. Teaching methods include interactive lectures, seminars, and a significant overseas study component, ensuring a dynamic and practical learning environment.

Please note that this is an exit-only course. There is no direct admission to it. Current UTS students who meet the criteria for honours, may be able to submit an Internal Course Transfer (Graduating) application to exit with this course. Check with the UTS Student Centre.

Career prospects are enhanced by international experience, making students more marketable to prospective employers both locally and internationally.

The course offers students the opportunity to gain an international perspective to their law studies. In developing language skills and undertaking overseas study in their fourth year, students are exposed to expertise and skills to enable them to work internationally and have an in-depth understanding of cross-cultural legal issues.
