The Master of Screen Arts and Production is for anyone looking to deepen, enhance or reframe their skills as a screen industry practitioner.
In this course students engage in hands-on and practical training, develop a network of creative collaborators, and create a portfolio of original films and other screen works. Core subjects introduce students to a set of common foundational skills, whilst a broad range of industry-aligned electives allow students to specialise in a chosen aspect of screen production craft. All students will be exposed to subjects fostering excellence and innovation in scripted and non-scripted production, and cutting-edge media art.
Working with professional film equipment and software, students are continually challenged by learning that is research-inspired and integrated with professional practice; all in our unique studio based classroom environment designed to help students explore, experiment with, and further define their creative voice. By immersing themselves in their creative practice, and spending time developing projects that they can present to industry at the conclusion of the course, a Master of Screen Arts and Production at UTS enables students to find and develop the skills and ideas that will set them apart.
Taught by industry practitioners who have mentored award-wining graduates, the UTS Master of Screen Arts and Production has been designed to meet the demands of this dynamic and fast changing industry.

Applicants must have one of the following:

Applicants who do not meet the criteria above should consider applying for C11378 Graduate Certificate in in Screen Arts and Production: Documentary or C11379 Graduate Certificate in in Screen Arts and Production: Drama.
Supporting documentation to be submitted with the application
For applicants who need to demonstrate professional work experience:
Curriculum Vitae (outlining career goals, major tasks and responsibilities, professional/industry recognition of work, and details of professional development) AND Statement of service in one of the following formats:
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent in Society and Culture or Creative Arts
OR
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent in any field of study AND A minimum of 2 years full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant professional work experience in the screen industry AND an interest in the course and demonstrated understanding of the opportunities present in Screen Arts and Production.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria above should consider applying for C11378 Graduate Certificate in in Screen Arts and Production: Documentary or C11379 Graduate Certificate in in Screen Arts and Production: Drama.
Supporting documentation to be submitted with the application
For applicants who need to demonstrate professional work experience:
Curriculum Vitae (outlining career goals, major tasks and responsibilities, professional/industry recognition of work, and details of professional development) AND Statement of service in one of the following formats:
- A 'Statement of Service' provided by the employer
- A completed 'UTS statement of service' signed by the employer
- A statutory declaration confirming professional work experience (for Australian Residents only)
- An official letter from the applicant's accountant or solicitor on their company letterhead confirming the applicant's professional work experience or engagement with the business, duration of operations, and the nature of the business
- A business certificate of registration in original language and English (e.g. provision of ASIC documentation or ABN or similar documentation for Australian Businesses)
