The honours program is designed to provide students with the resources to further develop and apply their research skills and to pursue focused areas of interest within sport and exercise science.

Adding an honours year to your degree will develop higher level skills that set you apart and improve your employment opportunities. Honours students can also pathway into higher level degrees such as a Masters or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Career options include exercise science, sports science, corporate health and fitness, physical activity, strength and conditioning, research assistant, health promotion (e.g. for general population or aged care), sports coaching or training (e.g. in schools or sporting clubs), sports development and sports management (including government roles in planning and policy). Students who progress to the level of PhD may find career opportunities in higher education institutions such as TAFE or University.
